James M. Harris, MD
Experienced Urologist James M. Harris, MD, brings more than two decades of experience in medicine to Gulf Coast Urology, with locations in Houston and Nassau Bay, Texas.
Dr. Harris began his professional education at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his undergraduate degree. He subsequently earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, before completing his urologic training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver.
Since entering private practice, Dr. Harris specializes in the surgical treatment of cancers of the male urologic system, including the kidney, bladder, prostate, and testes. He also has expertise in treating female and male urinary incontinence. For male patients, Dr. Harris also offers prosthetic urology, including penile implants, male slings, and artificial urinary sphincters.
Dr. Harris primarily serves patients at Gulf Coast Urology, but he also treats patients at The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) in the Texas Medical Center in Houston.
Outside of developing treatment plans and helping patients improve their quality of life, Dr. Harris serves on the clinical teaching faculty at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston’s Division of Urology.
Dr. Harris is also active in medical leadership. He’s a member of the medical staff executive committee at St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston and also acts as chairman of both the Department of Urology and the Department of Surgery.
